How EXE-TC develops a design remit for the entire vehicle.
Most suspension companies only build shocks, without understanding the vehicle’s dynamics.
EXE-TC have been very successful in designing suspension systems, because of our approach to the entire chassis.
Our first step in any new project, is to understand the design of the base vehicle. Often we find inherent flaws elsewhere in the chassis, so instead of building the dampers around these flaws, we try to understand, and address them from the outset...
Every new vehicle we design suspension for, starts with the same questions
- What are the in-built mechnical flaws and restrictions in the chassis?
- What steps do we need to take to free up the suspension movement to give us the greatest opportunity to control the tyre and chassis?
The energy that is produced from braking, steering input, lateral or side grip and then the vehicle's acceleration, has a loading effect (compression) and unloading effect (rebound) on the dynamics of your vehicle. These dynamics effect, first the tyre, then the spring, damper and moving parts into the rest of the chassis.
We have developed a program that allows us to utilise this energy, to change the chassis's geometry and weight distribution in such a way, to generate extra contact area from each tyre, for longer.
What follows is a damper, spring and chassis recipe designed solely around that vehicle.
