As the 2017 season of the Canadian Rally Championship enters the closing stages, there is one driver/team combination that once again showed their dominance over the series - that being Antoine l'Estage and Alan Ockwell, along with Rocket Rally Racing and Subaru Team Canada.
From the opening stages, l'Estage took the lead, opening a 50 second gap by the first service. Conditions where tough; compacted snow mixed with rain made mistakes costly. Many further down the field gained punctures, with second place Conner Martell picking up two punctures in the final stages. By the end of the final stage, l'Estage once again took first overall, by 2 minutes 45 seconds.
This result gives l'Estage a firm grip on the drivers championship, having to only start the final round at the Big White Winter Rally next month to secure his tenth drivers championship.
The biggest success from the event came from the final step of the podium, which saw Leo Urlichich and his N12 Subaru, prepared by Can Jam Motorsports, to a class win and the Production 4WD class title.
Both Antoine and Leo use EXE-TC suspension systems. Everyone here would like to send congratulations to both the drivers and teams. A fantastic effort by all, and we look forward to the final round and next season.
