Last weekend saw WRC Star and Finnish Rally champion Jari-Matti Latvala and his Toyota Celica St165 rally car compete at the Preapli Master Show, in the Veneto region of Northern Italy.
The rally took place on the muddy vineyards and bumpy roads around Sernaglia della Battaglia, 60 Km north of Venice. Both modern and historic vehicles competed over the relatively short 38 Km rally, with the main attraction being the handful of Group A, B and 4 cars battling between themselves for victory.
WRC and Dakar star Mikko Hirvonen was also competing, but unfortunately he would have to retire after SS3 due to gearbox failure.
Although leading the pack for most of the rally, Latvala encountered issues on the final day, pushing him to second by the end of the final stage.
